The exam usually includes recordings of height, weight, blood pressure and pulse. Blood and urine will also be required at most exams.
EKG’s and chest X-rays may be required based on the clients age and amount of insurance applying for.
Estimated Examination Time
- 10 to 20 minutes for blood draw and urine
- 20 to 30 minutes for paramed, blood and urine
- 30 to 45 minutes for exam, blood, urine & EKG
Exams will be performed at the clients home, work or Examiner location at their convenience.
What should an applicant do and have ready for the exam:
- Fast for at least 4 to 8 hours prior to exam
- Have picture ID available
- Limit salt and high cholesterol foods 24 hours prior to exam
- Avoid strenuous exercise 12 hours prior
- Refrain from drinking alcohol beverages for at least 12 hours prior to exam
- Limit caffeine and nicotine on hour prior to exam
- Drink at east 1 glass of water 1 hour prior to exam
- Have names and dosages of any current medications
- Provide any histories of problems providing a blood sample
- Have names, address’ and phone numbers of any doctors seen in the last 5 years,
- Women should mention to examiner when making the appointment if they will be menstruating so that a better time may be arranged
- Get a good nights sleep prior to exam
